Ano Mera
The village of Ano Mera is located around 8 kilometers inland from Mykonos Town. The center of Ano Mera features the 16th century Cloister and Panagia Tourliani Church, as well as a small central square and an assortment of tavernas and coffee shops serving traditional Greek sweets and food. On a nearby hill is the 18th century Monastery of Paleokastro where visitors can view the remains of a Byzantine castle and fort.
The peaceful rural setting of Ano Mera village serves as a contrast to the busier Chora, and offers easy access to some of the island’s beautiful beaches, such as Elia, Kalo Livadi, Kalafatis and Agia Anna Kalafatis.
There are various accommodation options for tourists who would like to spend a few days in Ano Mera and explore the island from there. Or a visit to the village can be included in an island tour, which Mykonos Dream Travel will arrange according to your requirements.
