Featuring soft white sand scattered with pebbles, the secluded beach of Agios Ioannis is located on the south-west coast of the island of Mykonos. Located only 4 km from Mykonos town, the route to Agios Ioannis is very scenic and the road down to the beach offers a spectacular view of the sparkling blue bay and the neighboring island of Delos in the distance.

 

Agios Ioannis beach was seen by millions of movie fans around the world when it was featured as the location for the 1989 award-winning British film Shirley Valentine. The beach restaurant, Hippie Fish, offers dining on the beach, where visitors can watch the sunset over the sea, sip cocktails and enjoy the holiday atmosphere of this charming destination.

 

 

The beach is separated into two parts by rocks jutting out into the sea, with beach umbrellas providing shade and beach chairs for hire. Refreshments and food are readily available and there are a variety of different accommodation options to choose from.
